Abstract

The NHS announcing, during the covid-19 pandemic, its ambition to become the world's first net zero emissions health service before 2050 is admirable. 1 Although the pandemic has given us opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint, such as the rise of telemedicine, 2 it has also placed some hidden environmental challenges on the NHS.
