Blindness among older persons is of progressively increasing concern as longevity and consequent numbers of older blind persons increase. On the “large map of the world of the aging” which Dr. Shock here portrays, the worker for the blind must locate the area of his function and perceive its relative position on the total map so as to fit into its contours and most effectively contribute to the total results that are sought.
