Health psychology service for sickle cell disease: Reflections on service developments 11 years on

Abstract: A previous paper (Thomas & Taylor, 2001) inClinical Psychology Forumdescribed the psychological issues and the main features present at the start of the health psychology service (HPS). In this paper we reflect on the HPS 11 years post establishment. Issues that are relevant to establishing a HPS in a medical setting are identified and the service is considered in the context of national guidelines.
