 The radiation intensity was controlled via the Internet of Things.  The Internet of Things was used to overcome the limitation of distance.  The Internet of Things was used to reduce efforts of long-time monitoring.Connecting the devices to the internet based on the internet of things IoT increases the capability of monitoring and measuring, and controlling essential variables. In this study, the radiation intensity was controlled via the internet of things IoT for PTSC to study the collector's behavior. The light control circuit was designed, built, and implemented. The circuit mainly consists of a power supply, Arduino, relay, and potentiometer. Radiation was successfully monitored using a sensor and displayed through a smartphone via Wi-Fi, and the intensity of radiation light controls the PCM status. A data logging system was applied using a micro SD in a smartphone card and Arduino Node-MCU as a microcontroller. The experimental results show the relationship between solar radiation and resistance change. Inversely, the maximum radiation found from this work was 780 W/m2 with 74 k Ω resistance, and the minimum radiation was 300 W/m2 with 170 k Ω resistance. The output power changes directly through solar radiation, which means the power output with maximum solar radiation will be 3018 W. Using IoT Technology reduces efforts of long-time monitoring during the experiment (many hours)

With fossil fuel sources diminishing and climate issues getting more and more serious each year, researchers around the world have been turning their attention to more sustainable and environmental friendly energy sources. While many new renewable energy sources emerge, solar remains as a popular and rapidly researched source. The efficiency and robustness of a solar energy conversion system is highly reliant on the continuous improvements and development in several aspects. Among others, is the monitoring and control system. The past few decades witness some rapid growth in the research and enhancements in embedded control and monitoring systems for photovoltaic solar systems. In this paper, a review on various developments of embedded monitoring and control systems for photovoltaic energy conversion systems is presented. The purpose of this article is to shed a better light on relevant techniques and methods. A number of research articles are reviewed and categorized based on the focus and mechanisms presented. A comprehensive study is carried out to reveal the improvement claims, outcomes, discoveries, and trade-offs of the techniques found in the literature, and a comprehensive conclusion is drawn at the end of the article.

The deployment of remote monitoring systems based on Internet of Things (IoT) presents an opportunity to curtail operational and maintenance (O&M) costs associated with stand-alone PV systems. This study evaluates the characteristics of the commonly employed IoT platforms, their capabilities and associated O&M cost savings. Analysis of avoided field visit costs based on three remotely monitored solar PV sites is conducted through clustering of system faults and filtering out major ones that would warrant actual site visits. The obtained results are verified with information gathered from four other PV installer companies based in Nairobi, Kenya. Results obtained from the study show that majority of system faults can be monitored and often corrected remotely. Annual site-specific cost savings associated with IoT platforms range from $2040 to $3096. In comparison to ordinarily locally monitored systems, annual operation and maintenance costs can be reduced by 47–95%. This implies that it is now possible to adequately maintain healthy solar PV systems located in remote locations ensuring their longevity and convenience.
