This chapter examines Latin American perspectives on health activism in the mass media through the lens of digital interactivity, leaderless networks, and community resistance to feminicides and violence against women. Specifically, this chapter, building upon previous research, explores the ways in which Latin American activists have engaged in leaderless rebellions through the lens of digital interactivity and hashtag feminism to respond to feminicides or the senseless murdering of women in Latin American contexts because of their gender. The chapter first explores the history of Ni Una Menos, one of the world’s foremost anti-violence and anti-feminicide activist groups. Next, it analyzes Ni Una Menos’ social media and physical engagement in anti-femicide organizing to combat violence against women. Finally, it discusses the evolution of health media activism in social media contexts.
