“…Participation in sport was identified to have a positive influence on self-rated health in three studies ( Froom et al, 2004 ; Kitchen & Chowhan, 2016 ; Woitas-Ślubowska & Skarpanska-Stejnborn, 2010 ) while no association was reported for self-assessed mental health ( Kitchen & Chowhan, 2016 ).
