Electronic states of neutral and cationic bis(benzene) titanium and vanadium sandwich complexes studied by pulsed field ionization electron spectroscopy

“…6 The PES uncertainty for the V -bz 2 IE was not cited in the original paper, 6 but errors were of the order of 0.1 eV for broad bands and 0.05 eV for sharp bands of similar metal-arene sandwich compounds. 8 Since the first PE band of V -bz 2 was relatively narrow, an uncertainty of 0.05 eV may be assumed. This assumption gives an IE value of 5.95͑5͒ eV for V -bz 2 from the previous PES measurements.…”
