Abstract

Due to the increasingly severe problem of environmental pollution, homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engines are highly encouraged to be used in lots of countries. HCCI engines aim to reduce load operation and increase efficiency. The potential environmental impact is also discussed and highlights the effect of the HCCI engine on sustainability. Nowadays, hybrid vehicles are becoming increasingly widespread as a possible alternative other than electric vehicles (EV). There are many individuals and companies on the market seeking a much cleaner and more efficient technology for vehicles. This essay will discuss and summarize the positive effect of HCCI engines on combustion control strategies, hybrid powertrain configuration, and the challenge and offer some possible solutions.
