Hazard Identification of Methanol Fuel System on Ship

Abstract: Today, dual fuel diesel engine (DF-DE) on board ship is proven to produce smaller gas emission. The most common configuration for DF-DE is by using natural gases as main fuel but does not rule out the potential of other alternative fuel such as methanol. Methanol has potential application on board as low carbon, sulphur, NOX and particulate matter.
