Hawgent dynamic mathematic software as mathematics learning media for teaching quadratic functions

Abstract: According to the observation of schools in Indonesia, the quadratic function graph is a lesson for junior high school students. For it is an abstract concept, students have difficulties to understand and picture out the graph functions. The main purpose of this research is to design a learning media to improve students’ learning achievement by using hawgent dynamic mathematic software. The method of this research is research and development method. The target audience of this research were 32 students in exper… Show more

“…One of the positive impacts in the education field is that we can develop a technology-based learning media. There has been various research that shows that a technology-based learning media can help improve students' skill, learning outcome, learning motivation, self-confidence and other skills (Fani & Sukoco, 2019;Putri & Prodjosantoso, 2020;Wijaya, Ying, Chotimah, et al, 2020a). So, by the end of the pandemic, there will be some positive impacts on the learning media development that can be used to improve the students' learning skills in other developing countries.…”

“…Mathematics includes the key scientific basic abilities such as operation ability, calculation skills, logical thinking (Ayuningtyas, Mardiyana, and Pramudya 2019;Sumarmo et al 2012), abstract thinking (Rosita 2018;Wijaya et al 2020), etc., which are essential for learning other disciplines. For high school physics students, it is not very easy to learn abstract knowledge (Bernard et al 2019;Suryanti et al 2019;Wijaya et al 2020). Acoustics, mechanics, optics, electricity, electromagnetism and other related knowledge in nature are reflected in physics (Escobar et al 2016).…”
