Have coffee/tea, will travel: assessing the inclination towards sustainable coffee and tea tourism among the green generations

Abstract: Purpose This study aims to identify the key variables which determine intentions to visit coffee/tea tourism plantations particularly those adopting sustainable practices. Also, this study ascertained the perception of risk in travelling due to the fear of Covid-19 on travel intentions to such coffee/tea tourism destinations. “…Percentage prediction error ¼ measured value À predicted value measured value  100 (20) The following Figure 7 represents the prediction error. We evaluated the k-nearest neighbors with a prediction error of 58%, the Naive bayes with a prediction error of 65%, the Bayesian global vector autoregressive with a prediction error of 77%, the artificial neural network with a prediction error of 85%, and the proposed SNF-DT with a prediction error of 97%.…”

“…The theory of planned behaviour is the most popular theory for the central model of analysis [2,[18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25]. Studies applying this theory show that the purchase of green products is driven by the individual's ecological attitude [2,20], which is similar to perceived behavioural control, and they add other important factors such as environmental ethical awareness and subjective norms related to the new environmental social consciousness.…”

“…Due to Covid-19, tourists worldwide are banned from entering countries due to closed borders and the incessant fear for the safety of their lives [40]. The biggest challenge resilient by sustainable coffee/tea tour operators is customers' inability and, for some, reluctance to travel [41].…”
