Harmonic Suppression of Shunt Hybrid Filter Using LQR-PSO based

Abstract: In linear quadratic regulator (LQR), two different weighting matrices play an important role in presenting the performance of this controller. Instead of using classic common approach, which is trial and error method, this study proposes a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm to track the best solution of the weighting matrices. The proposed algorithm is tested on shunt hybrid active power filter (APF) to mitigate the harmonic contents in voltage and current signals in a nonlinear load system. The model… Show more

“…This is due to the time delay of data communication which generated an extra force on slave side. Error compensation and estimation are needed to be implemented in future [37,38]. In the force preset, parameters can be changed in a way that to compensate tissue stiffness variations.…”

“…This error is then converted into pulse width modulation (PWM) signal to control the inverter. From the power electronics point of view, this process is quite similar with the voltage/current source inverter [9]. In this work, the SAPF based on a five-level NPC voltage inverter is controlled by ANFIS connected to a passive R-L series output filter and injects equal harmonic currents, but in phase opposition with that of the harmonics generated by the non-linear load in the network.…”

“…Another algorithm is also commonly used for HAPF design, called the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. The PSO algorithm is used to design an APF in a four-wire three-phase system in case of balanced and unbalanced loads but only consider to design for PPFs and optimization for the APF but not for the HAPF [16][17][18][19]. Another study to multi-objective design on HAPF is using an ant colony and bat algorithm [20,21] but only aslo multi-objective optimization design for PPFs.…”
