“…The proposed criterion in [19] is based on a low-pass filter and the cascaded delayed signal cancellation technique, which is applied to the faulted phase voltage. The approach proposed in [25] is a method based on the voltage harmonic content measurement. The method in [26] uses the difference between the calculated and the measured voltage of the faulted phase across the FLR although it is designed only for double circuit TLs equipped with FLRs.…”

“…Many of the methods proposed in the literature are based on the increase of THD during the secondary arc and the sharp decrease after the fault clearance. In the presence of renewable resources, many of these methods lose their ability to function properly due to the lack of THD reduction after fault clearance [4][5][6][7][8][9][10]. The proposed method does not use the harmonics in voltage to calculate the criterion, and in addition, due to the high capability of the HHT method, the proposed method can have a correct and fast performance regardless of the high penetration of renewable resources in the power system and THD value.…”

“…After the fault clearance, the values of these harmonics decrease and will ideally reach zero. The approaches presented in [4][5][6][7][8][9][10] calculated the harmonic content of the faulty phase voltage or healthy phase currents using various signal processing techniques including time-time (TT) transform, discrete wavelet transform, wavelet packet, and total harmonic distortion (THD). Finally, the fault nature and the moment of extinction of the secondary arc were detected using the calculated criterion values and changings.…”

“…Weights should be selected to minimize the error between the output of ADALINE and the desired signal. For the ADALINE training, we use the Widrow‐Hoff rule, which is based on the LES method in which weight correction is done as follows: W()k+1=W()k+γE()kQ()kQT()kQ()k, where W ( k ), W ( k + 1), Q ( k ), E ( k ), and γ are the weighting array at the k th and ( k + 1)th sample, the input vector in the k sample, the error (E()k=trueu^()ku()k), and the learning rate, respectively. In order to follow the correct waveform u ( k ), the error E ( k ) should become zero or be reduced to a threshold value.…”
