Hard dilepton production from a weakly magnetized hot QCD medium

Abstract: We have computed the hard dilepton production rate from a weakly magnetized deconfined QCD medium within one-loop photon self-energy by considering one hard and one thermomagnetic resummed quark propagator in the loop. In the presence of the magnetic field, the resummed propagator leads to four quasiparticle modes. The production of hard dileptons consists of rates when all four quasiquarks originating from the poles of the propagator individually annihilate with a hard quark coming from a bare propagator in t… Show more

“…There has been substantial progress in studies of the polarization effects in magnetized plasmas in recent years. In the regime of nonzero temperature, the polarization tensor was calculated in the lowest Landau level approximation [19] and the weak-field limit [20,21]. Some results beyond the Landau level approximation were obtained as well [22][23][24][25][26].…”

“…Modification of QCD Debye mass and the two point correlation functions of quarks [25] and gluons [26][27][28] i.e., partons have been analyzed recently. Dilepton production rate from a hot magnetized QCD plasma [29][30][31][32][33][34][35][36] has been calculated. Photon is also considered as a good probe of the QGP medium as photon only interacts electromagnetically.…”
