Halos of unified dark matter scalar field

Abstract: Abstract. We investigate the static and spherically symmetric solutions of Einstein's equations for a scalar field with non-canonical kinetic term, assumed to provide both the dark matter and dark energy components of the Universe. In particular, we give a prescription to obtain solutions (dark halos) whose rotation curve v c (r) is in good agreement with observational data. We show that there exist suitable scalar field Lagrangians that allow to describe the cosmological background evolution and the static so… Show more

“…The importance of scalar fields in the dark sector has been increased; for instance, several authors have investigated the unification of dark matter and dark energy in a single scalar field (Padmanabhan & Choudhury 2002; Arbey, Lesgourgues & Salati 2003; Bertacca, Bartolo & Matarrese 2008). Recently Liddle & Ureña‐López (2006) and Liddle, Cédric & Ureña‐López (2008) proposed that the landscape of superstring theory can provide the Universe with a φ 2 +Λ scalar field potential.…”

“…Besides a mechanism of inflation, the K-fields also can be a dynamical dark energy model [70][71][72]. As a scalar field pervading the universe, from the effective field theory view point, the K-fields must interact with the matter that is present [73].…”
