Abstract. Development of homelessness in the walk of life. This essay helps us to understand the issues of homelessness, particularly the journey of women to become homeless. I applied qualitative methods which provided an opportunity to have a closer look at personal walk of life. My aim was to understand micro-social factors more deeply, recognise the relation of cause and effect, map the process of becoming homeless, analyse the route leading to roofless situation and last but not least to find the risk factors which greatly contribute to the situation when women find themselves roofless. I made depth interviews with 21 roofless women in 2008. In the first part of the interview I wanted to know life events from early childhood to homelessness, while in the second part they were asked about their roofless experience.
