Abstract: Cancer is a common cause of morbidity and mortality in the United Kingdom (UK), affecting approximately two out of every five people during their lifetime. In 2015 there was an estimated 2.5 million people in the UK who had had a cancer diagnosis, an increase of almost half a million in the previous 5 years.
