Abstract:The formation of hadrons is a fundamental process in nature that can be investigated at particle colliders. Given their large mass, heavy quarks (charm and beauty) are produced only in initial hard-scatterings, prior to hadronisation, which determines instead the relative abundances and the kinematics of the various heavy-flavour hadron species. As several recent findings demonstrate, with e + e − collisions as a "vacuum-like" reference at one extreme, and central AA as a dense, extended-size system characteri… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
