Hadronic matrix elements for TAUOLA: 3π and KKπ channels

Abstract: We emphasize that the motivation for including our hadronic matrix elements in TAUOLA is not only theoretical. We also show that our expressions describe better the τ → 3π ALEPH data and are able to fit BABAR data on the isovector component of e + e − → KKπ. The theoretical foundations of our framework are the large-NC limit of QCD, the chiral structure exhibited at low energies and the proper asymptotic behaviour, ruled by QCD, that is demanded to the associated form factors.

“…This formalism has been shown to successfully describe the invariant mass spectra of experimental data in τ decays for the following hadronic systems: ππ [517][518][519], πK [520,521], 3π [509,512,513,522] and KKπ [512,522]. Other channels will be worked out along the same lines.…”

“…in the standard Monte Carlo Generator for tau decays, TAUOLA [13]. However, in general these models include several ad-hoc assumptions, and can even have problems of consistency with QCD [14,15]. In addition, even when the agreement with experimental data can be very good, usually the model parameters can be hardly related to the underlying strong interaction theory.…”
