Abstract: The present work tries to echo how the communicative metamorphoses occurred in the last years, inferring in the reading habits and in the consumption of information in a general way and more specifically in adolescents. The analysis will start from the report prepared by the writers’ guild 2018 (2019), since it allows us to monitor the state of reading habits and book purchases in a generalized way in Spain. “…They access information through the networks and almost always, as observed in the data, in digital format. It would be advisable, perhaps, to clarify that, as stated in other studies such as that of Tabernero Sala, Álvarez Ramos, and Heredia Ponce (2020), it is not common for them to access newspapers or magazines (68.7% say they have never read a newspaper online), but rather they access the fragmented news through, usually social networks. The spread of reading for pleasure in Internet or using electronic devices also leads them to the consumption of the topics that attract or interest them in their free time, more than 70% of the subjects surveyed state that they never or almost never read about fun or leisure topics in written format, they reserve this type of reading for the digital environment.…”
