Gynecologic Concerns in the Adolescent Girl

Abstract

The ever-evolving role of the health care provider can present a variety of challenges, not the least of which is becoming familiar with basic knowledge of other specialties, including gynecologic care. The primary care office provides a comfortable, familiar environment in which the patient can seek medical attention. It is essential that most pediatric offices be equipped to deal with basic adolescent gynecologic care, and that their patients have access to sensitive and confidential care.
