GWAS for autoimmune addison’s disease identifies multiple risk loci and highlights AIRE in disease susceptibility

Abstract: Autoimmune Addison's disease (AAD) is characterized by the autoimmune destruction of the adrenal cortex. Low prevalence and complex inheritance have long hindered successful genetic studies.
