Guidelines for Intervention with Children and Adolescents Diagnosed with Conduct Disorder

Abstract: Children and adolescents diagnosed with conduct disorder present a formidable challenge to school social workers. Five guidelines for planning interventions with this population are presented. These guidelines are based on a synthesis of child development research and suggest that attention to the biological makeup of students as well as the design of multimodal and multisystemic interventions are critical to improving outcomes for children and adolescents diagnosed with conduct disorder.
