Abstract. Sensor data is crucial for mobile applications to support the user in the field. Several mobile applications are available for accessing such sensor data. However, a comprehensive approach for discovering such sensor data in the Sensor Web according to the user's context (i.e. the location) has not been proposed yet. This article describes an approach for discovering data and services in the Sensor Web through mobile applications. The approach is demonstrated by an air quality scenario and is implemented based on Free and Open Source Software.

Abstract-The emergence of high bandwidth public wireless networks and miniaturized personal mobile devices give rise to new mobile healthcare services. To this end, the MobiHealth system provides highly customizable vital signs tele-monitoring and tele-treatment system based on a body area network (BAN) and a mobile health care (m-health) service platform utilizing next generation public wireless networks. The developed system allows the incorporation of diverse medical sensors via wireless connections, and the live transmission of the measured vital signs to healthcare providers as well as real-time feedback to the patient. Since 2002 the system has undergone substantial development in consecutive EU and national research projects. Diverse trials with different healthcare scenarios and patient groups in different European countries have been conducted in all projects. These have been performed to test the service and the network infrastructure including its suitability for m-health applications.

Abstract-A new mobile platform is described that can be used in a number of telemedicine and wellness applications to provide connectivity between healthcare professionals, patients and measurement devices. The platform is based on an open application framework that provides interfaces for measurement, user interface, database and network connectivity implementations. A new technical approach has been adopted in using a mobile database solution for local storage and caching of information at the mobile terminal. Further, the platform applies a document-based service architecture that provides a versatile and reliable way of sharing and collaboratively complementing of health information including standard information model documents (HL7/CDA), and integration with health information systems and personal storages. The implemented mobile tele-ECG case demonstrates the overall function of the platform.
