Growth Response and Crop Production (Brassica Juncea L.) Against Watering Time Interval at Various Hydroponics Media

Abstract: This study aims to determine the Response Growth and Production of Crops (Brassica juncea L.) Against Watering Time Interval In Various Hydroponics Media. The research was conducted at the experimental gardens of Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Medan Area, located on No. Pond Street. 1 Medan Estate. This research was conducted from October 2013 until December 2013. The design used was RAL Factorial, with 2 replications, 10 combinations. The first factor of the hydroponic planting … Show more

“…Then, the average number of leaves at harvest was obtained, which was 12. [32]. The treatment of the media used for hydroponics has a very visible effect on the parameters of plant height, the number of leaves, leaf area, and production weight, and has a significant effect on leaf level parameters [33; 34].…”

“…Growing vegetables via soil-based cultivation face many challenges, including limited land availability due to converting fertile agricultural land into industrial uses, depleted soil productivity, and poor soil fertility for continuous cultivation [1,2]. There is also increasing problems in soil-based production system aside from soil exhaustion which includes pest infestation and chemical interference due to increase cropping intensity and excessively used of pesticide or continuous practice of monoculture [1][2][3].…”
