Abstract:Diamond-like carbon (DLC) possesses an array of valuable properties: outstanding abrasion and wear resistance; chemical inertness; exceptional hardness; low coefficient of friction; and high dielectric strength. Methods used to deposit DLC include ion beam deposition, cathodic arc spray, pulsed laser ablation, argon ion sputtering, and plasmaenhanced chemical vapor deposition. In the present work, carbon nano-structures were doped by boron atoms to synthesize icosahedral boron carbide using Hot Filament Chemic… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
