Growth enhancement of agricultural crops using seaweed liquid fertilizer

Abstract: Extensive use of chemical fertilizer is leading to infertility of soil and various hazardous effect on the ecosystem. Using biofertilizer reduces these harmful effects. Many are commercially available, being a poor match to chemical fertilizer they are not used on a large scale. Near coastal regions seaweeds are used as biofertilizers. Recent studies show seaweeds have multiple growth regulators, macro and micronutrients, polysaccharides which are necessary for plant growth. The study is carried out to check t… Show more

“…In a more sustainable approach, alternative methods have been explored to improve food production, and to ensure the quality and environmental safety (Vicente et al, 2021). In recent years, the use of seaweeds in sustainable agriculture has increased due to the numerous bene ts that improve crop productivity and stress resilience: fertilizers, biostimulants, root promoters, germination enhancers, phytoelicitors, resistance inducers to biotic and abiotic stress, antibacterial and antifungi (Ali et al, 2021;Shukla et al, 2021;Deolu-Ajayi et al, 2022;Parab & Shankhadarwar, 2022).…”
