“…To date only solid solutions of BiFeO 0 -BiCoO 3 have been grown via MOCVD [207]. Another phase similar to BiCoO 3 that has been produced as a thin film is PbVO 3 [22], PbVO 3 films were grown on LaAlO 3 , SrTiO 3 , (La 0.18 Sr 0.82 )(Al 0.59 Ta 0.41 )O 3 , NdGaO 3 , and LaAlO 3 /Si substrates and were found to be a highly tetragonal perovskite phase with a c/a lattice parameter ratio of 1.32. Further analysis of this material using second harmonic generation and X-ray dichroism measurements revealed that PbVO 3 is both a polar, piezoelectric and likely an antiferromagnet below ~130 K [23].…”

“…[1][2][3][4][5][6] Recently, epitaxial growth techniques have been applied to AVO 3 systems, and interesting phenomena and properties in films and on interfaces that are different from that of the bulk were observed. [7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15] For example, high conductivity could be constructed at an insulator-insulator interface depending on the interface atomic configuration. 12,14 Because the properties and morphology of the thin films are strongly dependent on the type, orientation, and terminal plane of the substrate, detailed knowledge of the thin film/substrate interface at an atomic scale is indispensable to gain control over and design thin film AVO 3 systems.…”

“…[17][18][19][20][21][22][23] The crystal structure of PbVO 3 and BiCoO 3 has been determined by the Rietveld technique and dc resistivity and magnetic susceptibilities have been measured. [17][18][19] It is found that both oxides have several similar features such as large tetragonal lattice distortion, sizable off-centered atomic displacements, semiconducting behavior and C-type antiferromagnetic ordering.…”
