“…So far, CuAlO 2 has mainly been grown as polycrystalline thin layers or on a ceramic route [4,10,11]. Only scarce reports on the growth of small single crystal can be found in the literature [8,9,12,13] and all of them rely on crystallization from melt solutions based on excess copper oxides (Cu 2 O, CuO) and Al 2 O 3 .
