Group B Streptococcal Disease in Infants in Japan

Abstract: This review describes the epidemiology of group B Streptococcus (GBS) infection in infants in Japan and discusses unresolved issues and future perspectives. Guidelines for the prevention of vertical transmission in Japan were implemented in 2008.
