“…The stratigraphic contact between these two rock units is gradational, and the discernment of where one begins and the other ends is difficult (Parkhurst and others, 1996;Smith and others, 2009). Both units were deposited in a fluvial-deltaic environment at the edge of a shallow sea that periodically covered this part of Oklahoma during the Permian period (Christenson and Havens, 1998).
