This structure was documented in the proventriculus in many avian species such as duck and domestic pigeon (Hassan & Moussa, ), guinea fowl (Selvan, Ushakumary, & Ramesh, ) and red jungle fowl (Kadhim, Zuki, Noordin, & Babjee, ). Whereas, in the wall of the proventriculus of yellow‐billed grosbeak (Zhu, Wang, Shi, Hu, & Chen, ), only three tunics were observed in which only tunica mucosa, muscularis and serosa were detected.…”
