GroEL1, from Chlamydia pneumoniae, Induces Vascular Adhesion Molecule 1 Expression by p37AUF1 in Endothelial Cells and Hypercholesterolemic Rabbit

Abstract: The expression of vascular adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) by endothelial cells may play a major role in atherogenesis. The actual mechanisms of chlamydia pneumoniae (C. pneumoniae) relate to atherogenesis are unclear. We investigate the influence of VCAM-1 expression in the GroEL1 from C. pneumoniae-administered human coronary artery endothelial cells (HCAECs) and hypercholesterolemic rabbits. In this study, we constructed the recombinant GroEL1 from C. pneumoniae. The HCAECs/THP-1 adhesion assay, tube formation… Show more

“…However, 2% can be provided for a short duration, such as four weeks. 5 Since all these types of lesions are classified as being at the stage of fatty streaks, the questions remain of the percentage which has to be selected and the criteria it has to be based on. The answers may be found in the importance of the parameters that can be measured at each step of lesion formation, and even in the same type of lesions for each protocol.…”

“…VCAM‐1 is a transmembrane glycoprotein that binds β1‐integrins on lymphocytes and monocytes. Expressed on epithelial cells, endothelial cells and macrophages, it can be upregulated by several cytokines, for example, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)‐α, interleukin (IL)‐4 and IL‐13 . VCAM‐1 plays an important role in promoting neutrophils, monocytes and T‐lymphocyte infiltration into liver tissues.…”
