Abstract:The microalgae were exposed to silver nitrate (AgNO3) solution and screened for their suitability for production of the nano-silver (nano-Ag). The HIV-1 gag p24 Elisa Assay was used to study the anti-HIV activity of biogenic silver nanoparticles from microalgae Nostoc sp., Lyngbya sp., and Phormidium sp. The antiviral activity of biogenic silver compounds can be explained by their ability to cross the lipophilic membranes and interact with proteins involved in apoptosis. The antiviral activity of silver ion as… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
