Green Removal of Various Pollutants by Microsphere Adsorption: Material Characterization and Adsorption Behavior

Abstract: Layered double-oxide/biochar composites (ZnAl-LDO@BB) were successfully prepared by a hydrothermal method and are used to adsorb different pollutants. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy were used to characterize the ZnAl-LDO@BB. The synthesized ZnAl-LDO@BB were regular microspheres, and ZnAl nanosheets were regularly embedded on the surface of the banana biochar. The ads… Show more

“…[24,25] Adsorption was a common separation method for complex systems, which was often used to remove toxic and harmful pollutants in sewage. [26] It had the advantages of simple operation, lower cost, safety and efficiency. At present, pollution control technology had become an important factor affecting economic and social development, and the adsorption treatment technology of the organic dyes had been widely concerned.…”

“…Methylene blue (MB) is widely applied in the fields of chemical reagents, biological dyes, drugs, etc 1‐3 . However, a large amount of organic dye wastewater generated in printing and dyeing processes brings huge environmental risks 4,5 . Therefore, the realization of high‐efficiency purification treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater has been a focus of study of researchers.…”
