"Green Machine" Intelligence: Greening and Sustaining Smart Grids

Abstract: the grid a two-way street, with information and even power fl owing in both directions. Traditional "passive" appliances and devices are giving way to "smart" ones, which incorporate active controls and data reporting. The combination of the bidirectional power and information fl ow, when coupled with the increased local autonomy of consumer devices, has given birth to the "smart grid" concept. The Smart GridThe enabling attribute of the smart grid is the "feedback" mechanism from the consumer to the producer.… Show more

“…The scenarios of EVs for both systems were developed using the tool presented in[63]. The details of each test system are described in the following subsections1 . The work was developed in MATLAB R2014a 64 bits, and TOMLAB 64 bits software[39] using a computer with one Intel Xeon E5-1650 processor and 6 GB of RAM running Windows 8.1.7.1.…”

“…One of the regular electric grids examined using Dynamic energy management (DEM) but not in case of Smart Grids. Here for the complex nature of decision processing are connected with control centers. [4], [5]. Advanced metering and survey systems used wide-area situational awareness (WASA) are proposed based on Energy management System(EMS) .Consumers are very much available and ready to get involve in Home Energy Management system and algorithms like Demand response and vehicle-to grid t participation through (HEMS) Home Energy Management Systems, demand response (DR) algorithms and vehicle-to-grid mechanism and also computer based control system s for supervisory [6].…”

“…These Smart Cities can be integrated in a solution considering electricity, water and gas consumptions, as well as heating and cooling systems, public safety, wastes management and mobility. In the context of smart cities and due to ICT improvements , big data will be available for smart grid operators [18]. Real-time records regarding EVs' location, time of charge and energy charged, could be maintained in appropriate data storage systems, e.g.…”
