Green fabrication of chitosan nanoparticles using Lavendula angustifolia, optimization, characterization and in‑vitro antibiofilm activity

Abstract: Chitosan nanoparticles (CNPs) are promising polymeric nanoparticles with exceptional physicochemical, antimicrobial and biological characteristics. The CNPs are preferred for a wide range of applications in the food industry, cosmetics, agriculture, medical, and pharmaceutical fields due to their biocompatibility, biodegradability, eco-friendliness, and non-toxicity. In the current study, a biologically based approach was used to biofabricate CNPs using an aqueous extract of Lavendula angustifolia leaves as a … Show more

“…Phytochemicals from Lavandula spica can act as reducing, capping, and stabilizing agents in the biogenic synthesis of nanomaterials. [29][30][31] The aim of this study was to develop a highly novel, sensitive and selective sensor using modified metal oxide (TRF)-TPB-CaO/ZnO NCS-coated wire for the detection of terbinafine hydrochloride in its dosage form. It was suggested that the incorporation of modified metal oxide nanoparticles (CaO/ZnO) in their design could improve the sensor sensitivity and selectivity.…”
