Green Emission of Tellurite Based Glass Containing Erbium Oxide Nanoparticles

Abstract: Investigation on green emission and spectral intensity of tellurite based glass containing erbium oxide NPs is one of the crucial issues. Tellurite based glass containing erbium oxide NPs with the composition of{[(TeO2)0.70(B2O3)0.30]0.7(ZnO)0.3}0.95(Er2O3)0.05has been prepared by using conventional melt-quenching method. The structural and optical properties of the glass sample were characterized by using XRD, FTIR, UV-Vis absorption, and PL spectroscopy. The amorphous structural arrangement was proved throug… Show more

“…Many absorption bands were detected at 1333, 1132, 994, 944, 854, 826, 707 and 464cm -1 in this spectra. The trigonal BO3 unequal stretching vibrations were observed at 1333cm -1 [12] in the wavenumber range 1200-1600cm -1 , Stretching vibrations of B-O bond in tetrahedral BO4 group in the range 800-1200cm -, BOB bending vibrations and BOBa stretching vibrations were observed.…”

“…It can be seen that two noticeable peaks centered at 524 nm and 549 nm where both are assigned to green transition ( 4 S3/2 -4 I15/2). The observed bands are due to the stark splitting effects which corresponds to the low symmetry of the local environment around Er 3+ sites [15]. TZEA2 emission bands are at the highest intensity under 532 nm excitation wavelength.…”

“…The small values of Ω 2 and Ω 4 indicated the lower asymmetric nature of the local environment around the erbium ions in the glass system [21]. Ω 6 contradicted Ω 2 and Ω 4 , with Ω 6 not being dependent on the local structure [33]; generally, the rigidity of glass is correlated with these parameters [31]. The glass without vanadium concentration (x = 0) was more rigid than the other glass samples (x = 0.5 mol%-2.5 mol%).…”
