As a pillar of United Nations, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia pursues to greener its economy and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. The green economy represents a catalyzer for sustainable development in its three dimensions -economic, social and environmental-aiming to improve human well-being and social equity and reduce environmental risks. However, the relevant previous studies lacked the role of green economy on sustainable development for the Saudi Arabia. For this purpose, this paper aims to explore how green is the kingdom and analyze its performance toward sustainable development from 2015 to 2020. To do so, we adopt the EEPSE Green Economy Index that combines educational, economic, political, societal and environmental indicators associated with the pillars of the Quintuple Helix Innovation Model. In this study, this index is composed of 42 indicators related to the green economy and the sustainable development. The empirical results suggest that the Saudi Arabia witnessed a significant progress of EEPSE GEI score. In addition, the findings support that the performance of the kingdom regarding the green economy is affected after the COVID-19 crisis. Thus, the paper provides original visions for policy makers to encourage the transition to green economy which constitutes the main locomotive to attain the economic, social and environment sustainability for the kingdom.

The research scientific article summarizes the arguments within the scientific discussion on the issue of internal transport and machine park in mining companies. The machine park in mining companies is base of efective mining processes and optimal results of mining. The machine park in the mining company introduces a combination of stagnant and active equipment in the process of mining. The goal of this article is to reflect the innovative approach in the creation of internal transport by machine park in the mining company with the aim of increasing the reliability, safety, failures, and efficiency of mining equipment. The entity of the investigation was the selected mining company in Slovakia focused on limestone mining. Approach of research were focused on using comparative analysis of the technical parameters of mining machines and their technical performance. The relevance of the decision of this scientific research was connected with the innovation of a mining machine park focused on mobile machines with a combination of stationary machines. The article presents the results pointing to significant improvements in the machine park of the mining company. In this paper we suggest two alternatives (two models that monitor the factors as quality, costs, safety, reliability, and optimization of company resources, which are important for the optimal arrangement of equipments) of the composition of the machine park for a selected mining company with Mobil crusher Sandvik QJ341+, Mobile sorter McCloskey S130, Wheel loader CAT 972 M, and tracked excavator CAT 336F and second alternative Mobil crusher Hartl 12/65J, Mobile sorter Anaconda SR514, Wheel loader CAT 966 M and tracked excavator CAT 329E. The results of two alternatives of the machine park in a mining company can be recommendations for other mining companies in the area of building the machine park for mining processes and its optimization.

Günümüzde dünya, küresel nüfus artışı ve buna bağlı olarak çevre üzerindeki artan baskı ile karşı karşıyadır. Ülkeler hem ekonomik durgunluk, hem de küresel ısınma ve iklim değişikliği sonucunda oluşan çevre krizlerinden çıkabilmek için sürdürülebilir kalkınmaya alternatif yeni yaklaşımlar bulma yoluna gitmektedir. Bu kapsamda yeşil büyüme ve yeşil ekonomi yaklaşımları, ülkeler için sürdürülebilir kalkınmaya doğrudan ulaşılabilme imkânını içinde barındıran pratik araçlar olarak görülmektedir. Bugün dünya nüfusunun yarıdan fazlası kentlerde yaşamakta ve kentsel mekan üzerinde oluşan olumsuz çevresel dışsallıkların çözümü zorlaşmaktadır. Ulusal ekonomik büyümenin itici güçleri olan kentlerde enerji tüketimi ve CO2 salınım oranı yükselmekte, dolayısıyla bu durum iklim değişikliğini tetiklemektedir. Bu sorunların minimum seviyeye indirilmesi ve insan onuruna yakışır bir yapılı çevrenin oluşturulabilmesi için yeşil temelli mekânsal gelişime yönelik adımlar atılmaktadır. Kentler özelinde uygulanacak yeşil büyüme stratejilerinin özellikle yoksulluğun azaltılmasında ve toplumsal refahın sağlanmasında kilit bir rol oynayacağı düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışma ile yeşil büyüme ve yeşil ekonomi kavramları sürdürülebilir kalkınma ölçeğinde açıklanarak kentlerde sürdürülebilir bir çevre oluşturulabilmesi için yeşil büyüme stratejilerinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.
