This paper provides an indepth analysis and research on the intelligent management and monitoring system of sports training hall through the Internet of Things. Firstly, it introduces the project background of the sports training base stadium service system, analyses the significance of the system development, and describes the related technology and the method of development. The paper then analyses the requirements of the management business of the system and describes the main business processes of the system with activity diagrams; the paper then analyses the functional requirements and data requirements of the system and describes the system with use case diagrams and thumbnail class diagrams, respectively. Based on this, the thesis designs the overall aspect of the system, giving the corresponding total package diagram, and designs all functions one by one, giving the corresponding class diagram, the corresponding sequence diagram, and the corresponding processing flow diagram. The thesis gives the design of database tables by designing entity property diagrams and entity-to-entity relationship diagrams according to the data requirements and system functions. Finally, the research of the thesis is summarized accordingly, stating what has been done, what results have been achieved, what problems still exist, and what further work needs to be done to make the outlook of the work.

In many countries, the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has been deployed in tandem with other strategies to curb the spread of COVID-19, improve the safety of front-line personnel, increase efficacy by lessening the severity of the disease on human lives, and decrease mortality rates. Significant inroads have been achieved in terms of applications and technology, as well as security which have also been magnified through the rapid and widespread adoption of IoMT across the globe. A number of on-going researches show the adoption of secure IoMT applications is possible by incorporating security measures with the technology. Furthermore, the development of new IoMT technologies merge with Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Blockchain offers more viable solutions. Hence, this paper highlights the IoMT architecture, applications, technologies, and security developments that have been made with respect to IoMT in combating COVID-19. Additionally, this paper provides useful insights into specific IoMT architecture models, emerging IoMT applications, IoMT security measurements, and technology direction that apply to many IoMT systems within the medical environment to combat COVID-19.

Development of Novel Big Data Analytics Framework for Smart Clothing

Recent advances in micro electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) have produced wide variety of wearable sensors. Owing to their low cost, small size and interfacability, those MEMS based devices have become increasingly commonplace and part of daily life for many people. Large amount of data from heart and breath rates to electrocardiograph (ECG) signals, which contain a wealth of health-related information, can be measured. Hence, there is a timely need for novel interrogation and analysis methods for extracting health related features from such a Big Data. In this paper, the prospects from smart clothing such as wearable devices in generating Big Data are critically analyzed with a focus on applications related to healthcare, sports and fashion. The work also covers state-of-the-art data analytics methods and frameworks for health monitoring purposes. Subsequently, a novel data analytics framework that can provide accurate decision in both normal and emergency health situations is proposed. The proposed novel framework identifies and discusses sources of Big Data from the human body, data collection, communication, data storage, data analytics and decision making using artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms. The paper concludes by identifying challenges facing the integration of Big Data analytics with smart clothing. Recommendation for further development opportunities and directions for future work are also suggested. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Department of Engineering, Manchester Metropolitan University. He has participated in over three projects that delivered cost effective solutions for industry. His main research interests include developing hardware and software platforms, and algorithms for data analysis and cyber security purposes.ALHUSSEIN ALBARBAR is currently a Reader with the Department of Engineering, Manchester Metropolitan University. He has well over 27 years of industrial working experience and as an Academic Active Researcher. He led and participated in over $7M of major projects and supervised over 21 research degrees including 15 doctoral studies. He has published three books, five-book chapters, over 100 technical papers in refereed journals and international conference proceedings. His current research interests include Industry 4.0 applications, renewable power systems, smart sensing, intelligent control, and monitoring algorithms used for electromechanical power plants.
