“…Whilst Pinti et al [24] were specifically referring to public sector entities such as hospitals and schools, the issue of scale is arguably considered true for many organisations that manage multiple assets. Further perceived barriers include the time taken to make models [40,60], the need to consistently update them so they remain relevant [12,16,59] and the need to make data accessible to those without BIM ability or access to BIM tools [16].…”

“…However, it is worth noting that even if all the information requirements for the existing assets are known, much of this data can be erroneous or missing, a likelihood which increases with the age of the asset [60]. Furthermore, since FM covers the whole operational life of an asset, it is not unreasonable to assume that new data will need to be added to the system over time to reflect any changes, whilst retaining the historical data.…”

“…By carefully selecting the exterior wall, roof, door, window, and ground surfer materials as well as the architecture of the enclosed space, which can have a significant impact on the energy usage over a building's entire life cycle, it is possible to significantly reduce the energy required for space heating or cooling. According to studies, the usage phase of conventional buildings accounts for around 80-90% of their lifetime energy consumption, while embodied energy makes up the remaining 10-20% [10]. Building Information Modeling tools help users do complete energy analysis and explore different energy saving alternatives during the design stage.…”

“…In today's information and data-driven era it is becoming all the more crucial for Managers to monitor performance data, using Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) or Building Information Modeling (BIM) through the implementation of software solutions (9). Reviewing Green BIM literature it was found that a major hindrance for its implementation is insufficient sources of knowledge, impacting the management's decision-making process (10); for example, during the design process, improper use of estimation methodologies or input parameters leads to performance discrepancy (11). When it comes to Corporate Social Responsibility the relationship between ethical leadership and employees' attitude toward CSR was found to be positive (12), these leaders play a major role in incorporating the needed values that contribute to the organization's accountability and responsibility when it comes to sustainability ( 13 ) .In organizations that employ third-party facility management companies it is the responsibility of the facility managers to integrate into daily operations the pillars of sustainability, and keeping the leadership team informed of the long term benefits and cost-efficiency of going green (14); additionally involving the employees in the company's CSR ensures that these practices do not remain superficial (15).…”
