Gray Relation Analysis for Optimal Selection of Bridge Reinforcement Scheme Based on Fuzzy-AHP Weights

Abstract: In order to solve the problem on optimal selection of old bridge reinforcement schemes, a decision-making method of gray relation analysis based on fuzzy-AHP weights is proposed. Firstly, the fuzzy-AHP is used to develop the decision index system of old bridge reinforcement schemes and determine the weight of decision indexes. The 0.1–0.9 scale method is introduced as the index judgment criterion, and the weight judgment matrix is established. Through the consistency test, the relative weight vector of each de… Show more

“…During the development of the system, if the changes of the two factors tend to be consistent, that is, the degree of synchronous change between them is high, it can be concluded that the correlation between the two is high; conversely, the correlation between the two is low. GRA is a method which takes the difference or similarity of the factors' development trend to evaluate the correlation between them [25]. The basic idea of GRA is to compare the geometric correspondence between factors through mathematical methods based on the data sequence of factors.…”

“…Hierarchical analysis requires less quantitative information and is concise and practical, but it is influenced by subjective factors and does not fully reflect the connection of each evaluation index [26]. As an objective weighting method, the greater the number of samples collected, the closer the weight calculation results are to the objective facts.…”

“…Liu et al 7 presented a reliability assessment method for a precast reinforced concrete hollow slab bridge system considering damage to joint nodes based on an improved Analytic Hierarchy Process. Tan et al 8 addressed the optimization selection problem of retrofit solutions for old bridges and introduced a decision method based on fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process weights and gray relational analysis. Lu et al 9 proposed a method for risk assessment of Suspension bridges and cable systems based on cloud model, which effectively combines the randomness and uncertainty of risk information.…”
