Abstract:Breaking of discrete parity at high scale gives rise to Z 2 -domain walls. The metastability of such walls can make them relatively long lived and contradict standard cosmology. We consider two classes of theories with similar underlying feature, the left right symmetric theories and two Higgs doublet models. These theories effectively possess two steps of breaking of Z 2 discrete symmetries. The domains formed at a high energy scale in the first step further decompose into subdomains near the electroweak scal… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
