“…Unlike conventional western gratitude perspective (Bowlby, 1977;Emmons & McCullough 2003), Islamic perspective defines gratitude (shukar) as an expression of thankfulness through three modalities: (a) Gratitude expressed by the tongue, (b) gratitude expressed by the inner feelings (heart), (c) gratitude expressed by the body and limbs; and gratitude (shuker) is perceived as adherence to God's will to develop and maintain healthy interpersonal relationship (Ali et al, 2020).
