“…Consistent with previous studies, forgiveness and gratitude were related to happiness in adolescents (Maltby et al, 2005;0.82 Rana et al, 2014;Witvliet et al, 2018;You et al, 2018). This association may be explained by the influence of forgiveness and gratitude in maintaining positive relationships, which contributes to gaining social support (Hobfoll, 1989;Fredickson, 1998;You et al, 2018). Similar to other studies (Karremans et al, 2005;Meier and Stutzer, 2008;Gini et al, 2011;Seider et al, 2013;Light et al, 2015;Sulemana, 2016;Shiraki and Igarashi, 2018;Bono et al, 2019), these results showed a positive relation between both moral self-schemes and prosocial bystander behavior.…”

“…Finally, results indicated that the relationships between these variables were not moderated by gender or adolescence stage (early vs. middle). “…The group of cyberbullying victims with a low prevalence of bullying and higher gratitude exhibited lower life satisfaction than victims with a low prevalence of bullying and low gratitude. This a priori result is unexpected because the experience of gratitude is usually strongly related to life satisfaction in adolescence [ 48 , 49 ]. Nevertheless, the results fir the conditional effect also indicate that when people suffer a high prevalence of cyberbullying, their life satisfaction only be slightly decreased due to gratitude, as opposed to victims who experience a high prevalence of cyberbullying and low gratitude, who suffer a sharp decrease in life satisfaction.…”

“…Gratitude has also been shown to have a strong relationship with another important indicator for subjective well-being in adolescence: school satisfaction [ 48 , 49 ]. In a study conducted by Froh, Yukewicz and Kashdan [ 50 ], gratitude was observed to present a robust relationship with school satisfaction.…”

“…In recent years, a great deal of literature has suggested that gratitude is strongly related to all aspects of well-being [ 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 ]. Several studies have investigated the relationship between gratitude and well-being with specific samples, such as nursing students [ 9 ], clinical nurses [ 10 ], university students [ 11 ], and early adolescents [ 12 ] in Korea. The current study was conducted in response to these Korean social issues.…”
