Grating‐surface‐emitting laser arrays with > 1 cm output apertures

Abstract

Two dimensional grating‐surface‐emitting laser arrays produce up to 4 W peak power from a 60 μm × 1.2 cm aperture. These arrays consist of up to 10 × 27 laser elements and are based on either single or multiple quantum well laser structures.
