“…Tumoral estrogen secretion can cause uterine enlargement and endometrial thickening. 40% of the adult forms are associated with endometrial hyperplasia and 10% is associated with endometrial adenocarcinoma, so some authors suggested that a preoperative endometrial sampling is required (Ohel et al, 1983;Chua et al, 2001). In our study we found that abnormal uterine bleeding is the most common presenting symptom, and also serum estradiol levels were higher in GCTO group, but the difference was not statistically significant.…”

“…11 The incidence of tumor in women of European and American background was almost twice that of women of African and Asian origin, 0.98 versus 0.522/100 000/y. The reported incidence of granulosa cell tumor has varied from 0.58 to 1.6/100 000/y 10,11,15 and was reported as 0.62/100 000/y in Finland. 11 In United States the calculated incidence for white females is 0.99/100 000/y.…”

“…[1][2][3][10][11][12][13][14][15] During a 15-year period in Israel, 172 new cases of this tumor were diagnosed, for an incidence of 0.9 cases per 100 000 women per year. 11 The incidence of tumor in women of European and American background was almost twice that of women of African and Asian origin, 0.98 versus 0.522/100 000/y. “…Uterine cancer is nearly always a low-grade, low-stage endometrioid adenocarcinoma (35). Moreover, women with GCT have a higher risk of breast cancer development (36,37). Unregulated inhibin production can cause infertility, and androgen secretion may induce virilizing symptoms in a small group of patients (31,32).…”
