Granulometric characteristics of tungsten carbide-based powders

666.76The granulometric characteristics of hard-alloy powders are investigated on an Analysette 22 laser diffraction microanalyzer. Data on the instrument's protocols are tested by a new method developed by the authors and are displayed as formalized distribution densities.There is no need to attempt to assess the critical importance of studies associated with arriving at a more profound understanding of the chemical [1] and statistical [2, 3] characteristics of such loosely dispersed systems as refractory powder materials. According to the four-component scheme (paradigm) for the study and creation of materials developed by G. V. Samsonov [4,5], the properties of the materials and articles produced from powders are determined not only by the chemical composition and technologies, but also by the type of packing of the particles, their modal dimension, and the specific surface of the powder.Refractory powders, a subject we will be speaking of below, were preliminarily investigated on an Analysette 22 laser diffraction microanalyzer. The data of the protocols were then processed according to a technique developed by the present author [6] in order to replace the histograms of the powders by formalized distribution densities.
