“…It was first described in 1978 as granulomatous lesions on the diaper areas in adults, mostly in the older people and then referred to as “diaper-area granuloma of the elderly.” 2 Although the pathogenesis is still unclear, susceptibility to occlusion, maceration, irritant contact dermatitis, and local infection may be predisposing factors among adults, especially among older people who are bedridden 3 .
