Grafting of telechelic poly(lactic‐co‐glycolic acid) onto O2 plasma‐treated polypropylene flakes

Abstract: ABSTRACT:In this work, we described a facile approach to preparing polypropylene (PP) surface functionalized with telechelic poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (HO-PLGA-COOH). The PP flakes were first treated with oxygen plasma and then grafted with different molecular weight PLGA (M w ¼ 50, 100, and 300 K) in dry dichloromethane solution with the addition of phosphorus pentachloride (PCl 5 ). The attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy measurements were used to characterize … Show more

“…To solve this problem, many researchers have carried out investigations on their surface modification [1][2][3][4][5] and development of novel adhesives. As these surface properties are unfavorable to their application related with surface properties, the use of the polyolefin materials was frequently limited.…”

“…Which can build polymers with complex topological structure such as block copolymers, graft copolymers, hyperbranched polymers and dendrimers, etc. Therefore, significant economic and research value belong to this active telechelic polymer [7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14]. At present, telechelic polymers have been widely used in biomedicine, optical research, chemical production and other fields [15][16][17][18].…”
